Band Aid is an application that syncs with a Microsoft Band and was created to help those in need discreetly report domestic violence. By wearing a Microsoft Band the user will allow our application to track their gravitational juxtaposition and heart rate to detect stress. When stress is identified a pop up will appear on the band screen to offer help at the tap of the wrist.
By tracking skin temperature we can determine if the user is experiencing higher stress levels.
The application can be turned off so it does not disturb the user during exercise.
Elevated and sporadic heart rate is linked to elevated stress levels.
Some women aren't ready to report to police. You can customize your alert to contact friends instead.
Machine Learning for Stress Detection
As we collect data on heart rates data we will be able to apply machine learning and know if the user truly needs help. This will allow Band Aid to help in times when violence may be unexpected.
Partnering with Local Centers
There are centers accross the world where those under the threat of domestic violence can take refuge. We hope to create partnerships with these organizations to give our users options when under attack.
Integration with Social Listening
Unfortunately sometimes it takes more than an opportunity to report domestic violence. With integration with social media sites, we may be able to detect at risk users and proactively report potential violence.
